In Praise of the Bush

I'm aware that this is a polarizing topic, and that I'm unlikely to convince anyone who doesn't already share my opinion, but ladies, you have my permission to put down the razor. The shaved pussy seems to be more and more the style these days, but there are plenty of us left who very much appreciate the charms of a good old-fashioned bush.

My preference for pubic hair is probably because that's what I associate with sex and women from my formative years. Penthouse Magazine in the late 70's and the porn of the early-to-mid 80's all featured women with full bushes. For me, that dark triangle between the legs is part of what makes a woman a woman, and I still get a rush of adrenaline on seeing that triangle, either directly or through sheer panties.

Some trimming is fine, but the fully shaved pussy just strikes me as missing something. I like the idea of keeping the treasure a little bit hidden, in the same way that sheer lingerie can be sexier than full nudity. And the bare pussy has connotations of the prepubescent, which is not sexual or arousing to me. The full bush hints at womanhood, sensuality, and sexuality.

I've had this argument with buddies, and one will inevitably say "doesn't it bother you when you're eating pussy?" My answer is, "no, not at all." I especially love eating a furry snatch. Sliding my tongue through the bush and into the pink wet pussy is sensual and delicious. Another inevitable question is do I think there's such a thing as too much bush - and yes, of course there are limits.

Part of the "doesn't it bother you" question seems to imply that bush means unclean. Of course cleanliness and hygiene are important, but they're important regardless of the shaven/unshaven state of the pussy. Shaved does not necessarily mean clean, any more than unshaved means unclean.

Now pussy, by definition, is the world's greatest thing, and the shaved pussy is *not* a turn-off. But my preference will always be the sexy feminine bush.

  1. Interesting!! I should cancel my appointment for a brazilian, lol. Since I started shaving (not bare, but short trimmed), I never considered going back to a regular style.

  2. I'm with you Max. The pubic bush is an important part of all that is womanly to me.

Like you I associate the image of a pubic triangle with my early years and so a shaved pussy is only 4/5 of a pussy in my eyes.

  3. Interesting post, I trim and follow the seasons, bush in winter, trim in the spring and a little more shaved in the summer...and growing back in the fall, lol!

  4. I always questioned this a little bit. It makes me think of a little girl to see a woman fully unshaven, women have hair there. Yes. I am with Green Eyed on this one. But what about men? I don't like a FULLY shaven down there man. Trim it , yes.. But I want my man to have hair and better things to do that manscaping everyday.

Speaking of which, now I am turned on! sigh

  5. Here here. Clean should not be a synonym for shaven.

  6. Interesting point of view. I completely disagree, lol...but completely respect your opinion. Something about body hair...on either sex, does me in.

  7. Here's my two cents. I shave, not everything I leave my runway ;) but here's why, and I refused to shave when I was younger: The feel of a freshly shaved pussy is amazing. You can't beat it. Especially when it is stimulated and wet, slick. Shaving makes things easier I find, it makes for easier penetration. I also think that most men appreciate it, it gives them a better view. I couldn't possibly shave everything, it would make me feel like a child as well, I can't look at myself in the mirror and say "that's me" without a hair.

I'm with Frenchy though, I do let things go a bit wilder in winter. I just can't be bothered to keep up meticulous shaving every other day. so trimmed yes...

  8. Interesting. I HATE shaving down there but yet I do it anyway because my man prefers it (but I only go bald on special occasion, I'm more of a runway girl), but damn it is a pain in the ass to upkeep. Plus, once it starts to grow a teeny bit, it gets all itchy and gross. Sigh. So, I'm glad there are men out there who appreciate a bush.

  9. Yay! I agree with you 100%. I couldn't shave even if I wanted to... it would be way too uncomfortable.

  10. I used to shave bare meticulously, and only recently have I grown a bit back. I don't like the feel of totally wild and free hair, but a landing strip suits me just fine :)
